The Cannes Film Festival 2019 event required a laser projector providing maximum exposure and brightness due to screenings taking place during sunset and evening time outside. Fliff held a private event to draw attention and raise the profile of films that were screened. Fliff collaborated with Epic outdoor cinema to show off their world-class, silent, inflated cinema screens and required a top-quality projector to wow audiences.
Nick Toutoungi, from Epic outdoor cinema, said: “Because the event started close to sunset, a high contrast projector with bright laser and high resolution with an extremely high contrast ratio was desired. We were seeking optimum results to display clips of upcoming films and screenings to an audience of peers and other industry stakeholders within the greater filmmaking community. The presentation had to be perfect.”
Epic selected the impressive Optoma ZU660e projector to beam movie trailers and sponsored content onto the screen with the incredibly beautiful picturesque beach views at Long Beach Bistro La Croisette in the background. Epic selected their Slimline™ E-LUX 16 luxury inflatable cinema screen which has a 5.5 metre picture size.
Epic’s projection screens are sleek and attractive as well as functional and versatile. Their free-standing silent projector screens can be utilized in many venues and have a very small footprint. A top quality, impressive “stand out from the crowd” laser projector was needed to make the event a show stopper.
The Optoma ZU660e was selected as the best laser projector for the job was due to its bright 6,500 lumens, WUXGA resolution and features to include DuraCore technology with a 20,000-hour lamp-less laser light source enclosed in an IP5X certified optical engine. This ensures reliability and minimal maintenance during its lifetime resulting in low total cost of ownership. Designed to suit different installation environments, the ZU660e includes 360-degree and portrait projection, 24/7 operation capabilities and 6 optional lenses ranging from 0.36~5.5 throw ratio.
The overall result was stunning. Set in the most picturesque, stunning landscape, the Epic inflatable screen and the Optoma ZU660e projector complemented each other incredibly, making the film footage a complete joy to watch.
Nick Toutoungi commented: “Our team were able to deliver a flawless presentation and film experience supported by Optoma’s professional ZU660e projector. All parties were extremely impressed with the picture-perfect display that also serves to address the continual paradigm shift within technology, consumption and culture.”
